If you do not know about Reflective Practice, please revisit your Study Skills module on Moodle, you can also read about it here: What is the Reflective Journal?
See below for the expected layout of a typical reflection (we would always recommend taking your tutor's advice if they have a different preference).
Week 1
To Provide Structure to my Reflective Journal I will use Gibb's Model of Reflection (1988)
Description
This module has started well, with topics of interest to me; with both the group and individual report titles sounding of interest. It is great that the group work has been allocated so promptly. I would like to think that I have a working knowledge of treatments available for diabetes but I am keen to build on this knowledge. Really happy with the plan for each of us to look at the landmark studies in more depth, and learn from one another.
Feelings
I did not enjoy the previous module, in part the topics did not inspire me and I had some personal struggles to contend with at work; this has left me a little flat about the course. Whilst logging on and enjoying the new topics, I have struggled to find the motivation to participate.
Evaluation
I am my own worst critic, and I recognise this. I have been able to post this weekend, so am already getting 'back into it'. The topics are of interest to me, and I feel I have a lot to offer as well as gain from this module.
Analysis
The week started slowly for me, trying to transfer my level of interest into motivation, however I am determined to get as much out of this module as possible. I have been able to catch-up at the weekend, somewhat, with the case discussion threads.
Conclusion
Ready and motivated to start the next week. Keen to look at the LEAD study in more depth and share this knowledge with my peers.
Action Plan
I am aware that I may not always be able to post to the case discussion forum in a timely manner; so will use the time available to me to catch-up, and will try not to let this impact onto my motivation. I am keen to look at glycaemic targets, and will start to gather evidence for the group submission.
