University of Gibraltar - Extenuating Circumstances

Modified on Tue, 6 Jun, 2023 at 2:00 PM

If you are concerned about missing a deadline or being unable to participate in part of the programme, please contact Student Services as soon as possible at [email protected] so that we can offer guidance and assistance.

Absence/Short Extensions

Students who fail to submit an assessment on time without approved Mitigating Circumstances are able to submit work within two working days of that deadline via email to Student Services. This will be capped at the base pass mark of 50%.

If students wish to submit work more than two working days past the deadline, they must fill out a Mitigating Circumstances Claim Form (attached) and submit this with appropriate supporting evidence to Student Services within five working days of the original deadline. If this is not done or the university's Mitigating Circumstances panel deems that the circumstances were avoidable or the evidence is insufficient, the student may be awarded a mark of 0 on that work.

Interruption of Studies

If your circumstances continue and you require to suspend your studies to return at a later date, please contact our Student Services team to request further information, and we will be able to assist.
